  1. Many years ago at a party I saw a fellow student standing alone against the wall, with a really weird look in his eyes. Normally I don't like talking to people I don't know well, but he looked like he could use someone to talk to. So I went up to him and asked if he was okay. At first he didn't say much but we ended up walking around the block and talking for hours. He told me later on that he'd been planning to kill himself that night.

  2. Have I made a real difference? Probably not...
Or maybe I just don't know it. Most people wouldn't tell you.

  3. Thanks! Keep them coming... :-)

@Peter I am sure you have. We all do. With every decision that has an impact on someone else.

It doesn't have to be a rose-coloured one. Even by causing pain, we can make a positive difference. Like when we break up with someone we are no longer good with. It releases both people, to go out and find themselves, their true passion, a better match, important insights, ... It may hurt like hell, but it's as real an impact as any.

And thanks for the 'most people wouldn't tell you.' So true! I need to have a good soul searching session myself, to think about who has made a real difference in my life. It's probably a good time to tell them that.
